At Cookswood, we strive to be a sustainable development where we care for the surrounding environment by offering activities that are environmentally friendly, preserving natural wildlife and using innovative construction technologies to make our properties one of a kind.
We are working towards off grid power supply incorporation into our ancillary and leisure buildings, with the use of solar, wind and geo thermal technologies. It's our goal to be totally self-sufficient to power.
As an optional upgrade, we can add solar panel systems to your home to make it cheaper for you to run.
Electric Vehicle Charging Points
To promote the use of sustainable transport, we will be introducing electric vehicle charging points in the designated car park space for every property.
Recycled Stone Cladding
Sustainable practices are used throughout the construction of your property, and locally sourced materials are used throughout, limiting transport footprints and ensuring a constant supply.
We use recycled local stone, by excavating and shaping it to use as natural stone cladding. This means that recycling during the build process is maximised, ensuring as little as possible goes to landfill.
Air Source Heat Pumps
As standard, every property is fitted with an air source heat pump that allows the property to be cheaper for you to run, saves space in your home and will reduce carbon emissions.
Cookswood is within an area of outstanding beauty, and this has come with a great deal of responsibility and we are passionate about enhancing the various habitats of protected species.
We undertook various ecological surveys, and installed newt ponds, countless bat and bird houses and will implement nature friendly lighting across the estate.
Nature Study Centre
Cookswood prides itself on working closely with various organisations to help protect and conserve British species present in the development.
You will be able to visit the Nature Study Centre on the lakeside, to provide insight into the abundance of ecosystems across the area.
